In order to generate money and attention, the work and the Happy People of the Happy People of the World Foundation are at the disposal of several events and the ones mentioned below will take the happy cake.

2009: NON STOP Rotterdam - New York, Happy People Solarship
400 year anniversary New York 2009 marks the 400th anniversary of the day that Henry Hudson set sail from Amsterdam, dropping anchor in New York Harbor five months later in September 1609. His first steps on the tip of Manhattan eventually gave rise to a thriving settlement on what is today New York, in many ways the capital of the world.

An activity for and by young people. In the summer of 2009 a ship, driven by solar energy, will cross the Atlantic from Rotterdam to New York where the United Nations head office is located. The preparations and the trip itself will be very typical for the Happy People of the World Foundation. A substantial part of the revenue will be for charity. The reason we have chosen Rotterdam is the fact that it will be European Youth Capital in 2009.

Building a ship driven by solar energy. A shipyard with adjoining exhibition where curious visitors can really have a unique experience. A number of record voyages over the oceans. And a lot of publicity and action by students.

This special project will be carried by young people. Thanks to the cooperation of the INHOLLAND College of Advanced Education in Rotterdam and specifically the School of Communication and Media ,the long-term event Happy People Solarship will be supported by young people. Advanced students will determine the contents of part of the communication. They will take care of the interpretation of a number of those aspects e.g. the various events that will take place, the production of a TV news broadcast for the Broadcasting Station of the Happy People of the World Foundation and a documentary film but they will also be able to put their management-training into practice and they will be crew-members of Mission Control during the trips of the Solarship. INHOLLAND-students of the School of Technology from Delft will take a close look at the technical aspects of the Happy People Solarship. Moreover, students of schools of intermediate vocational education of other institutes will be given the opportunity to train themselves in practice at the shipyard and the Experience that comes with it.

2010: Cape Town, South-Africa, Football,World Championship.
The Happy People Solarship will play an important publicity-role during the Football World Championships in South-Africa. In the port of Cape Town the solar-boat will give some extra panache to the Football World Championships in South Africa. The voyage from Rotterdam to Cape Town will also be used to find out if the Happy People Solarship is suitable to tame other seas.

2011: Happy People Solarship: Non-Stop Round The World.
Let us consider the major crossing of 2009 as a test flight and the trip to the World Championships in South Africa as a second test: the ultimate goal is Non-Stop Round The World. From Rotterdam through the Mediterranean to India, Indonesia, Australia and the Fiji Islands to the Americas, Through the Panama Canal back to Rotterdam. We are still somewhat uncertain about the speed but we are confident that the Technology- students of INHOLLAND will not be put off by this imposing challenge.

2012: London, the Olympic games
Our tricolour will be flying on top of our solarship during the Olympic Games in London. In 2012 we will once more sail up the river Thames. No chains, fires or antique guns but there may be a medal in it.
As a modern, temporary neighbour of the Cutty Sark.

2013: New York City, The Opening of the New Skyline.
All 200 statues around the new skyline of Manhattan.
